Barefoot Birthday Beach Walk
Corona del Mar, CA, USA | 2024
Around 2PM on a Tuesday, I decided to walk down to a beach I had never been to before. I originally planned on just sitting on a bench to read and journal before my birthday festivities, but when I got there all of the benches were occupied. Poorly prepared in my suede birkenstocks, I threw them in my bag and ventured onto the unexplored coast. Unbeknownst to me, this beach is a part of the Monterey Formation, making it a gold mine for all things geology (which I love). I became almhypnotized by the beauty pulled out my camera to document the scene drenched in the bright Autumn sun. An hour later I left with a full roll of film and a dollop of tar on my heel.
