Up 7,000 Feet in the Sierra Nevada
Sequoia National Park | 2025
One of my biggest hobbies over the past few years has been hiking, so when I got the opportunity to visit Sequoia, I was so excited. Up 7,000 feet in the Sierra Nevada mountains, it was the highest in altitude that I’ve been in a long time. Along with hiking, I’m also enamored with the world of high-altitude mountaineering, so even though we weren’t *that* high up, I felt a little closer to the mountaineers that I love reading about and watching online.
Hiking through the Tokopah Valley with the mid-day sun illuminating everything from the towering trees, granite outcrops, and roaring river and waterfall, I often found myself with a swivel head, taking in all the beautiful sights and sounds (also keeping an eye out for bears haha).
